Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN supports patient care by monitoring health status, administering treatments, and assisting with daily living activities while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration)
• Administer medications and injections as prescribed
• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
• Collect samples for laboratory testing
• Perform wound care, change dressings, and assist with medical procedures
• Observe patients and report changes in condition to RN or physician
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
• Follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program
• Current LPN license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CPR)
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and medical terminology
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
