Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LVN supports patient care by monitoring health status, administering medications, performing treatments, and assisting with daily living activities while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician
• Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and patient conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Perform wound care, catheter care, and basic medical procedures
• Collect specimens and assist with diagnostic tests
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in medical records
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to supervising staff
• Educate patients and families on basic health care instructions and treatment plans
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care plans

Qualifications

• Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license (state-specific)
• Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and medical terminology
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
